At Inter Tomas, we can talk to native teachers, which enabled me to make my ears accustomed to English conversation. Actually the ALT (Assistant Language Teacher) is in my high school, however, few classes are held. Therefore, Inter Tomas provided me with precious and few chances to talk with other people in English. Without Inter Tomas, I wouldn’t have gotten more than an 80 percent score on the English section for the Centre Test held in January.
I started to come here when I was only 13 years old. When I started here, I could not write or speak English properly since I was bad at grammar. However, as I took classes with my favorite teachers, I could learn and deepen my understanding of English grammar. At the same time, I could gain confidence in my English ability. In PR, as I read English first and read Japanese later, I could understand the differences between English and Japanese. Also, I could learn the common things in these two languages. Furthermore, I got a chance to learn a number of English terms. I got an offer from the University of British Columbia. I also got an offer from the University of Alberta. In terms of writing my application for the University of British Columbia, I found that My Story was really helpful in order to show my strengths in my essay. I think that My Story helped me to get an offer from universities.
