Hello everyone! My name is Paul Ewen and I’m from Newcastle, England. I have lived in Japan for almost eleven years, and in that time I have taught English in many different ways. I have taught English to kids as young as two and adults as old as ninety seven! I have taught school kids, business people, university students and housewives. I have taught one-on-one classes, and business seminars in front of 30 people or more. I have helped students study for many famous tests such as TOEIC, TOEFL, Eiken, BULATS, I have taught English for students who need English for their job, and students who want to use English when they travel the world. Each student wants something different, and I try to deliver that in a way that is both interesting and fun for the student, so they reach they study goals and have a good time while doing it.
In my free time I love watching movies (I’m a particular fan of Christopher Nolan and Steven Spielberg), reading books (Stephen King, Sherlock Holmes, Harry Potter), writing (I am writing a book called “What Happens on the 25th”, a fictional novel based around Christmas mythology), and singing (I love karaoke, but I also sing with my band in various live houses around Tokyo and beyond. It’s a lot of fun and one of my favourite ways to relax). So please come to Osaki school and take one of my lessons, and let’s work together to make studying English fun and worthwhile for you.

Nina Kilburn 先生
Hello! It is a pleasure to meet you. My name is Nina Kilburn and I am from Birmingham, England. I came to Japan in 2011 after the Great Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami. For almost 11 years in Japan, I have lived in Osaki, and Osaki has since become my second home. I am very passionate about teaching. I was an English teacher in secondary schools in Birmingham, and as a linguist, I believe that everyone can master a language with lots of practice and consistent studying. I thoroughly enjoy working with people of all ages, kids, children, teenagers, adults or even senior citizens. In Tokyo, I have taught at many schools, elementary, junior high schools and high schools. I strive to build student self esteem and also encourage understanding of cultural diversity, gender differences and physical limitations. I am actively involved in all types of English Tests such as EIKEN, TEAP, IELTS, Cambridge Assessments, TOEIC, TOEFL, and many more. My hobby is travelling, and I have travelled around the world during my younger days, but I now focus my interest on cooking, especially the Japanese healthy cuisine.
